I am interested in exploring the places where intent and intuition intersect. I rarely work from an idea - never from an image. For me, brush strokes are as unique and personal as hand writing. I let their interaction and the layering of color reveal the painting. My intent is to actively respond to the image as it emerges.
A great challenge is to develop technical skills without being encumbered by too much thinking. I know if I am fully present in the moment while I work, what I create will feel alive long after it has left my studio.
