Flow, grow, forget what you know
" Journal With Fluid Paint" will launch at the end of this month. This creative expression workshop series is designed to introduce you to the tools and techniques for creative practice without any of the old boring rules. I will be leading the workshops at SkyFactory Studio with artist Ronda Nolan, the brains behind the original workshop idea. If you want to learn how to draw a horse in 3d perspective, well.... if, however you're longing to connect to your creative spark and nurture your sense of play, then these workshops are perfect for you.
There are three workshops in the series:
1. Fluid paint, ink & collage, Tues. Sept. 29, 7:00p m - 9:30pm
2. Fluid paint, ink & pastels, Thurs. Oct. 1, 7:00 pm - 9: 30pm
3. Fluid paint, ink & dry media, Sat. Oct. 3, 10:00am - 12:30pm

Workshops in Development
I am developing two workshop series for the fall. The first series, Journaling With Fluid Paint, introduces you to the tools for a daily creative practice through three sessions and will launch in late September. The workshops will be run with artist and collaborator Rhonda Nolan who is the brains behind the original idea. The second series will focus more on self-exploration through creative expression with an emphasis on self-portrait. My partner for these workshops is psychotherapist and Reiki Master Simone Bowman. Both workshop series promise to be very exciting so stay tuned or write to me for more info.
Near the end of June, the exuberant young Alex dropped by all the way from Victoria B.C. to help me with development. Here we are posing in front of Alex's own self-portrait!

Creative Flow
I just took a journaling workshop with local fellow artist and illustration genius Rhonda Nolan. http://www.rhondanolan.com
What a wonderful reminder that play keeps the creative spark alive. My take away gem from the workshop? "Just get out of your own way." Quiet the way of the willful ego and let your most authentic impulses flow freely, moment to moment. Here's a little snippet of my workshop flow....
